The Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) arrested six suspects in the beating that killed a man named Yosep (47) who was accused of stealing a chicken. Bandung Police Chief Kombes Kusworo Wibowo said the case began when Yosep's body was found at his residence in Sadu Village, Bandung Regency, West Java, last Tuesday at around 07.30 WIB. "The condition of the corpse at the time was bleeding around the face and head. Then he was immediately taken to the hospital for an autopsy and post-mortem," said Kusworo at the Bandung Police Headquarters, Bandung Regency, Antara, Wednesday, November 30. Less than two hours after the discovery of Yosep's body, the police managed to arrest one of the six suspects in the beating. From the arrest of one suspect, the police then carried out developments to arrest all the perpetrators with the initials TR (17), CC (24), RS (20), AI (33), MB (33), and AH (44). Kusworo said the beating began when Yosep offered chickens to be sold to one of the suspects. "After one of the suspects made the purchase, then there was talk among the suspects it was feared that the stolen chicken was stolen," he said. After that, the perpetrators were worried that the purchase of chickens would actually make one of their colleagues a collector. For this reason, the perpetrators then went to Yosep's residence to conduct an interrogation. "Among the six suspects, one of the suspects has a personal grudge with the victim. Because they are both recidivist, then there are allegations that the victim has disturbed the wife of one of the suspects," he said. From these factors, the beatings began when Yosep was interrogated by the perpetrators. The beating was carried out using his bare hands and blunt objects, causing the victim to die. "There was also one of the beatings using helmets that was carried out on the victim. This makes the main evidence," he also said. For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 170 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
