The COVID-19 Task Force Bans Hospitals From Promoting Vaccine Pre-Orders

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) Wiku Adisasmito has prohibited hospitals across Indonesia from opening pre-orders for the COVID-19 vaccine. This was conveyed by Wiku in response to a number of hospitals that have started to open this kind of service.

"The Task Force asked the hospital to wait for the government's direction and decision regarding the vaccination program," Wiku said in a press conference broadcast online on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Tuesday, December 15.

This kind of promotion ban, he continued, was carried out in order to prevent confusion among the community regarding the vaccination program.

"Do not carry out any promotion or similar activities related to the vaccination program before there is an official decision from the government to prevent confusion of information in the community," he said.

Regarding the promotion of vaccine pre-orders, the spokesperson for the COVID-19 vaccine, Bambang Heriyanto, also responded that PT Bio Farma had not opened a PO for the COVID-19 vaccine. Together with the government, he said, the company is still focused on completing the vaccination scheme for aid and independent programs.

"Currently, Bio Farma is still developing a system that will be used for pre-order ordering of COVID-19 vaccination, especially for independent routes. Until now, there are no provisions or technical arrangements from the government regarding this matter and the most important thing is that the implementation of the vaccine itself is still waiting for permission. use from the POM, "said Bambang as quoted from his written statement.

In addition, the provision of vaccination services in hospitals, clinics and other health facilities is currently undergoing a registration and verification process through independent channels and official associations.

"Understanding the existence of initiatives and the need to prepare from the start for people who are interested in vaccination, Bio Farma appealed to health service providers to wait for the official government announcement regarding the technical instructions for implementing the independent COVID-19 vaccination pre-order order," he concluded.
