K9 Policewomen Fired To Cianjur Search For Earthquake Victims Who Were Buried

The West Java Regional Indonesian National Police (Polda Jabar) deployed the Women Police (Polwan) of the Tracking Dog Unit or K9 to look for missing victims due to the earthquake that hit Cianjur Regency, Monday, November 22.

One of the policewomen from the Ditsamapta of the West Java Regional Police Unit K9, Bripda Indah Duha in Cianjur, Tuesday, said that along with a sniffer dog named Igor, he was tasked with finding victims affected by the earthquake, both alive and dead buried by building and soil materials.

Indah acknowledged that difficult geographical terrain and location were obstacles in the evacuation process for earthquake victims.

"Medan in this area is quite difficult and there are still aftershocks and small earthquakes that are obstacles to the movement of the search for victims in Cianjur," said Indah.

Furthermore, Indah said that she had marked several points where there were alleged victims based on Igor's smell since the first day of the search until now.

However, the search depends on the evacuation team to dig the land where there were suspected victims of the Cianjur earthquake.

"Until now, from several points that Igor has given, one point has been found or confirmed by A1 (definitely) there are victims in it," said Indah.

Indah also told about her starting to become a member of Unit K9 after graduating from Polwan School (Sepolwan) 2018 who then received the first sprint on duty at Ditsamapta

"At that time my first sprint was at the Ditsamapta Polda West Java with the first unit being the negotiator," said Indah.

Then, Indah was interested in joining the K9 Unit team during the introduction of the Ditsamapta environmental period until now.

Indah also told about humanitarian actions to find missing victims due to the earthquake in the Cianjur area, West Java.
