PAPUA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin expressed the government's desire to collaborate with the church to advance Papua.

"Through collaboration with the Communion of Churches in the Land of Papua (PGGP), we want to realize the vision of Papua 2041, namely Smart Papua, Healthy Papua, and Productive Papua in Inclusive and Peaceful Papuan Community Life," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Jayapura, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 29 November.

The vice president conveyed this when holding a meeting with the Communion of Churches in Papua (PGGP) Papua and West Papua and Papuan management Christian Center (PCC) accompanied by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Wetipo and Regional Secretary of Papua Province Muhammad Ridwan Ruikutun and also attended by the General Chairperson of PGGP.

"On this auspicious occasion, I would like to express my hopes and invitations. First, I invite PGGP, as a forum for the denomination of churches in the Land of Papua, to continue to develop a more holistic approach, according to church calls in the development of humanity, justice, peace, and integrity. creation in the Land of Papua, "said the Vice President.

The Vice President requested that the Papua Christian Center (PCC) take the role of bridging the parties as well as becoming a partner of the Government in the preparation of plans and program executions in Papua.

"Secondly, I believe the role of the church is able to strengthen Papua's inclusive and peaceful social life. In managing Papua in the future, I want to emphasize the importance of two complementary wings, both the bureaucratic wing of development and the cultural wing," added the Vice President.

The vice president acknowledged that it is impossible for the government to work alone. The government needs support, cooperation and collaboration in services with the church.

"The church, PGGP and the leadership of Sinode, are the backbone of the cultural approach," said the Vice President.

The third invitation is that the Vice President hopes to welcome these new provinces into the Great Home of the Land of Papua.

"Even though there are regional administrative differences, the social and cultural unitary ties of the Papuan people are still established," said the Vice President.

The Vice President hopes that the cultural path that the government wants to take is also in line with the structural path that has been mandated by law.

"The importance of understanding from the community through cultural channels so that cultural channels and structural channels have the same vision and in order to provide understanding to the community the influence of religious leaders, especially churches, is very important as 'local champions' who have a big role. Today we start a new chapter in accordance with the new law and the Agency for the Acceleration of Development of Papua Autonomy," he said.

Currently, there are six provinces in Papua, namely Central Papua, South Papua, Papua Mountains which are the expansion of the province of Papua and the province of Southwest Papua which is the division of the province of Southwest Papua.
