Prabowo Received The Determination Of Indonesia To Host The Forum For The Minister Of Defense Throughout ASEAN 2023

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto received the determination of Indonesia as the host of the Minister of Defense Forum in ASEAN or the ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting (ADMM) 2023.

Prabowo received this determination during the 9th ADMM Plus ADMM Resort at Siem Reap, Cambodia, Wednesday, November 24. At that time, Prabowo emphasized that ADMM Plus was proven to be an effective mechanism for ASEAN countries, especially in the development of their respective defenses.

"This mechanism has been used as an arena to meet, exchange views, exchange opinions, and build direct communication, which strengthens consensus buildings, and understanding achieved by state leaders," Prabowo said in a press release, Thursday, November 24, quoted by Antara.

With this, he continued, ASEAN has proven to be able to contribute to the world economy and shows that ASEAN's approach in resolving conflicts with negotiations is to achieve consensus.

"We achieve what our people want, namely achieving peace which is a condition for prosperity," he said.

Prabowo then appreciated ASEAN dialogue partners, plus countries, their participation is a very important part of the relevance and credibility of ADMM.

The current geopolitical situation is believed to be able and must be resolved by negotiations, with the understanding that the use of force cannot resolve the conflict.

"We must call on all countries to respect the interests of all parties in geopolitical conflicts. We must respect the interests of all parties," he said.

Prabowo emphasized that peace and prosperity are vital interests of all countries that all countries are interconnected, in need of each other.

Therefore, Prabowo called on all ASEAN members and partner countries to make extra efforts in understanding the interests and concern of other countries, that the entire nation has a big responsibility and duty to maintain peace.

"Only by restraining ourselves, compromise, and understanding, can we realize the dreams of our respective nations to realize peace and prosperity. There will be no prosperity without peace, therefore let us prosper together," he said.
