CIANJUR - Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Suharyanto ensured that the government would rebuild houses of residents who were heavily damaged by the 5.6 magnitude earthquake yesterday. He conveyed this after reviewing the locations affected by the earthquake in Cianjur Regency with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy. "People whose houses are heavily damaged will be replaced by the government, once the emergency response is complete, they will enter the tehability and reconstruction stage, after that they will only build houses that are heavily damaged," said Suharyanto, Tuesday, November 22. In addition, the relevant ministries and institutions will also carry out rebuilding of affected infrastructure, such as schools to places of worship. "Other facilities such as education, mosques and madrasas that are damaged, will be assisted by the relevant ministries," he said. In accelerating disaster management, BNPB also placed one helicopter and ready-to-use funds of IDR 1.5 billion and logistical assistance of IDR 500 million. "For isolated villages, apart from paving roads from land, one helicopter has also been prepared for logistics distribution," said Suharyanto. For information, there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 with a depth of 10 kilometers at 13.21 WIB on Monday, November 21. Based on the records of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of Tuesday, November 22 at 09.55 WIB, it was recorded that the victim died due to the earthquake in Cianjur. A total of 31 people are still reported missing. A total of 377 people were injured in Cianjur Regency, 1 person was injured in Bandung Regency, 1 person was seriously injured and 9 people were slightly injured in Sukabumi Regency, and 2 people were slightly injured in Bogor Regency. The displaced residents increased to 7,060 people spread across several types. In addition, 8 families were displaced in Sukabumi Regency and 4 people were displaced in Bogor Regency. Meanwhile, for infrastructure damage, there were 3,075 houses that were lightly damaged, 33 houses were moderately damaged, and 59 houses were heavily damaged.
