The Chairman Of The South Tangerang KPU Has Died Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - South Tangerang City KPU chairman Bambang Dwitoro died after receiving intensive care after testing positive for COVID-19.

Secretary of the South Tangerang City KPU Fajar Baskaradi in Tangerang, Saturday, confirmed the news of the death of KPU Chairman Bambang Dwitoro to the media crew.

"Inna lillāhi wa inna ilaihi rājiun. Has passed away to rahmatullah Mr. Bambang Dwitoro at 03.40 at Sari Asih Ciputat Hospital. Hopefully Husnulkhatimah and given the best place with Allah," said Fajar in his statement quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 12.

Previously, South Tangerang City KPU Chairman Bambang Dwitoro was confirmed positive for COVID-19 and underwent treatment at Sari Asih Ciputat Hospital.

Executive Daily (Plh.) Chairman of the South Tangerang City KPU, Taufik, said that the Chairman of the South Tangerang City KPU had received intensive care at the Sari Asih Ciputat Hospital.

"We convey that the Chairman of the South Tangerang City KPU, Bambang Dwitoro, tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently undergoing treatment at Sari Asih Hospital," Taufik said in his statement on Friday.

Taufik said that medical personnel continued to carry out medical treatment because it was known that there was a problem on the side of Bambang Dwitoro's lungs.

"His condition is now on a ventilator," he said.

Regarding the KPU's duties, Taufik said that all of his activities were replaced by him and everything continued smoothly until the voting yesterday.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Taufik said that the South Tangerang City KPU Office had sprayed disinfectants.

"The swab activity for staff and other KPU members is rescheduled next week," he said.
