JAKARTA - The Papua Province Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) recommended a re-voting (PSU) in three districts in Asmat Regency.

Papua Province Bawaslu member Amandus Situmorang in Jayapura, Saturday, mentioned the three districts, namely the Kopai District at Kampung Sinipit TPS, Akat District at Kampung Ayam TPS, and the remaining six TPS in Agats District.

"This PSU recommendation is after findings related to the video of an individual KPPS member in Asmat Regency casting a pile of blank ballots," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 12.

According to Amandus, with the findings of the video, the Asmat Gakkumdu Center will conduct further investigations.

"We already have the video recording and the Asmat District Bawaslu has traced its validity," he said.

He said his party had confirmed that the video was taken at a house on stilts in Agats District.

"The video is true, we have followed up and coordinated with the Asmat Regency Bawaslu regarding the truth of the video," he said again.

The reason for the KPPS individuals who cast many ballot papers, he said, was because previously the community had agreed to vote for candidate pair number 01 for the Asmat Regent and Deputy Regent Election.

"The incident did not only happen at the TPS in the video, a total of eight polling stations from the three districts also voted using the consensus system. This is not justified because Asmat Regency has used the voting system," he said.

Previously, a video of an individual KPPS member in Asmat Regency was punching a pile of blank ballots.

The video is 2.20 minutes long and spreads via the messaging app.

In the recording, two people suspected of being members of the KPPS are punching the pile of ballot papers for candidate pair number 01, while the other person is in charge of folding the ballot papers that have been punched.
