As A Result Of The Power Lattice Cable Short Circuit, 3 Houses In Klender Hangus Caught Fire

Three houses on Jalan Agricultural RT 13/04, Klender Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta were burned down. Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said the fire started with an electrical short of aerial cables that spread to residents' homes.

"The cause (fire) was from the power pole cable (short circuit). The area of the object that caught fire was about 102 square meters. The three houses belonged to Yeti, Nurhayati and Paimin who caught fire. The owner suffered a loss of around Rp. 150 million," said Gatot Sulaeman, Tuesday, November 15.

Gatot explained that the fire started with sparks from a burning power pole cable. The fire then spread to the house of a resident named Yeti. The fire grew bigger and spread to other residents' houses.

"The fire spread to Nurhayati and Paimin's house. The houses of the two residents were only burned at the top," he said.

Luckily there were no casualties as a result of the fire incident. Officers managed to extinguish the fire at around 09.20 WIB.

"The fire was extinguished by 12 fire engines with 60 personnel. A total of 14 people were rescued from the flames," he said.
