JAKARTA - A foreign citizen (WNA) from the United States was found dead while traveling in the sea waters of East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

"It's true, there are tourists from America who died allegedly because they drowned while doing diving," said Head of the East Flores Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Eduardo J Fernandes when confirmed from Kupang, Tuesday, November 15, as reported by Antara.

He said a foreigner named Caleb Dan (37) was found dead while traveling in the marine with a number of his colleagues in the waters around Solor Island, East Flores on Monday (14/11).

Caleb and his colleagues previously rode a Pinisi type of tourist boat that sailed on the Kupang-Ende route but on their way they stopped to dive in East Flores.

"So most likely the person concerned died from drowning while diving in the sea," he said.

Eduardo said the foreigner was found lifeless and had been evacuated to Larantuka, the capital of East Flores Regency to be taken to the Hendrikus Fernandes Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

"The body has been taken to Larantuka, it is under the handling of the police in East Flores," he said.

Eduardo added that his party was further examining the condition of the foreigner's body and coordinating with related parties for further handling.
