CENTRAL LAMPUNG - The smuggling of two clips of methamphetamine was thwarted by officers from the Gunung Sugih Penitentiary, Central Lampung, Lampung Province.

Head of Gunung Sugih Denial Arif said the disclosure of this smuggling attempt began with the suspicion of officers in the packaged rice brought by prison visitors. After being examined, a power bank was found in the deposited goods.

"The officers' suspicion increased and then confiscated and dismantled the power bank. Sure enough, after it was dismantled, a package wrapped in tissue containing two packs of methamphetamine was found in the power bank," said Denial in Central Lampung, quoted from Antara, Monday, November 14.

The Class IIB Gunung Sugih prison then documented the failure and the Head of Gunung Sugih Police reported the findings to the Head of Division and Regional Head of the Lampung Ministry of Law and Human Rights as well as synergizing and coordinating with the Central Lampung Police through the Head of Drugs for the next process.

Denial Arif also expressed his appreciation to the inspection officers and all officers of the Gunung Sugih Prison who have actively contributed to efforts to prevent and eradicate drugs in the local prison environment.

"I appreciate the officers who have carried out their duties in accordance with the SOP, so as to prevent drug smuggling efforts into prisons," he said.
