PT Transjakarta Reported To The KPK Because The Passenger Balance Was CUT 2 Times When Tap In And Out

JAKARTA - The policy of attaching electronic money cards when boarding and getting off Transjakarta buses was reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The reason is that the passengers' balances were cut twice in the process and considered an act of corruption.

"In early October there was a double-tap cut (when it rose) and it was also cut (when it went down)," said former member of the Jakarta City Transportation Council Musa Emyus at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Monday, November 14.

This two-time payment is then considered detrimental to consumers. Moreover, many Transjakarta bus users have experienced this incident since October 2022.

Not only that, Musa also reported the appointment of a third party in the new payment system. According to him, the regional company does not need to appoint other parties but cooperates with PT Bank DKI.

As for the report, Musa included a number of documents. It was not detailed anything but he said some of them were related to cutting passenger balances twice.

For information, DKI Jakarta BUMD, namely PT Transjakarta, imposes new rules for passengers when boarding and going down. They are required to attach electronic money cards when going up and down.

This rule is enforced so that the implementation of integrated tariffs for public transportation modes can run. If they don't do so, the customer card will be blocked.
