92 Names Menjadi Ketum PP Muhammadiyah Period 2022-2027

JAKARTA - General Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Abdul Mu'ti, said that as many as 92 names have the opportunity to become General Chairmen of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive for the 2022-2027 period. "Well, in Muhammadiyah, now there are 92 candidates (names)," said Mu'ti after being a speaker in the review of the book Political Contestation, Indonesian Islamic Movement in the Digital Public Space, in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, October 10. He said at the 48th Congress of Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah which will be held at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta, Central Java, on November 18-20 2022, he will select a new leader for the next period. According to him, there are no figures who are favored to be able to continue the leadership relay of one of the largest Islamic religious organizations in Indonesia. He said, the 92 names that emerged both had the opportunity to become chairman. "The strength of Muhammadiyah lies in the organizational system. Muhammadiyah does not depend on sinten (who) and does not depend on pinten (how much)," he said. However, he did not mention who the figures included in the general chairman's stock exchange were. When asked about his willingness to be elected as the new general chairman, Abdul Mu'ti firmly expressed his readiness. "If you say you are willing, well, just be ready," he said. The election of the General Chairperson and Member of PP Muhammadiyah is one of the important agendas in the 48th Muhammadiyah Conference Aisyiyah. There are four stages of election for the general chairman of Muhammadiyah, namely selection, verification, ratification at the tanwir trial, and election. In the screening and verification stages that have been passed, the names of 92 candidates for general chairman have passed the verification. Subsequently, ratification was carried out at the tanwir trial on November 18, 2022. The tanwir trial was held with an election agenda of 92 candidates for the general chairman to be reduced to 39 names of candidates. The next stage, 39 names selected in the tanwir trial were brought to the congress for an election to produce 13 people. Among these 13 people, there will be an election regarding who the general chairman and the general secretary will be. After the congress was completed, the 13th team rearranged structural completeness in Muhammadiyah.
