PT KAI Security Guards' Behaviours Who Go Too Far In Taking Action Against The Perpetrators Who Burn Garbage On The Train Tracks

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has spoken out regarding the case of abuse by two security guards against a teenage boy in Tambora, West Jakarta. He admitted that what his two security guards, DI (25) and SB (20), were doing was not true. However, PT KAI also considers that the victim's actions by burning on the railroad tracks are also not justified.

“The act of burning any form on the edge of the railroad is prohibited in the railway regulations. The actions taken by the two suspected PT KAI security guards with the initials DI and SB are not justified when they carry out the persecution," said Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa in a written statement, Wednesday, November 9.

Eva appealed to the entire community to obey the existing regulations.

"The law that regulates the safety of train travel is contained in Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways," she said.

Previously, two security guards with the initials DI (25) and SB (20) abused a child from the leader of the Assalafiyah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Tambora District. The victim with the initials AZ (21) suffered a number of injuries as a result of being mistreated by the two PT KAI security guards.

The incident occurred when the victim was burning trash on the edge of the railroad tracks near Duri Station, Tambora, early Friday, November 4. Then the victim's actions were known by the two perpetrators.

The victim's parents who knew their child was abused immediately reported to the police. DI and SB were immediately arrested.
