Many Issuance Of Non-Clivil Mining Business Permits, KPK Forms For The Governance Improvement Task Force

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) formed a Mining Governance Improved Task Force (Satgas). This team was formed because of the large number of rasuah practices in the mining sector, one of which was the issuance of mining business permits that did not have a clean and clear status.

"The formation of the Task Force was carried out because of the rampant corrupt practices in the mining sector," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, November 8.

"Starting from the large number of issuance of mining business permits that do not have a clean and clear status, to the overlap of business rights located at the mining permit location and the location of business permits for the use of wood forest products in industrial plants," he continued.

Ali said this team consisted of the KPK, the Ministry of Investment and the Investment Agency, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Regional Government.

"The task force was formed to coordinate and evaluate the governance and licensing of the mining sector in Indonesia," he said.

In addition to forming a task force, the KPK also initiated and implemented the National Movement for Natural Resources Rescue (GNPSDA). This program is intended to save natural resources in the forest, garden, mine, marine, and fisheries sectors.

The GNPSDA, continued Ali, was formed with relevant ministries and institutions, local governments, and other stakeholders. This step is considered as a form of coordination.

"It is necessary to carry out comprehensive coordination and evaluation from various parties in the mining sector, so that the risk of corruption can be prevented, and simultaneously contribute to optimal state revenue," he concluded.
