YOGYAKARTA - Yogyakarta National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), evacuated a victim who was caught like a truck and after a traffic accident on the south Ring Road, to be precise west of the Druwo intersection, Jalan Parangtritis, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, Monday morning. The Head of Operations and Alert for the Yogyakarta Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas), Asnawi Suroso, said that his party had received information about a traffic accident with the special handling of one person being pinched like a Dam Truck. "Receiving the report, the Yogyakarta Basarnas Office dispatched a rescue team equipped with special handling equipment for the victim to be pinched," he said in a written statement in Yogyakarta quoted from Antara. The rescue team that arrived at the location immediately coordinated with the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Bantul Resort Police (Polres) to carry out the evacuation process of one victim who was still pinched. "After carrying out the evacuation process for approximately 45 minutes, the trapped victim was successfully evacuated dead," he said. He explained the chronology obtained that the dam truck stopped at the south Ring Road west of the Druwo intersection on Parangtritis Street, then a bus drove from the west, and hit the back of the dam truck that stopped on the left side of the road. As a result of this incident, one victim died because he was caught in a dam truck, the victim on behalf of Irwan (19), a resident of Semanu, Wonosari, Gunung Kidul Regency, DIY, who is a bus assistant. Then two people were injured on behalf of Lasina (71), a resident of Depok, West Java and Jumiyati (52), a resident of Depok, West Java. The two survivors were taken to the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Panembahan Senopati Bantul. He added that the details of the number of passengers on the bus, including the cause of the traffic accident, would be conveyed by the Bantul Police. With the evacuation of the dead victim due to being caught in the back of the dam truck, the SAR operation was declared closed, and all the joint SAR elements involved were returned to their respective units, said Asnawi Suroso.
