It's Fun Playing Alone In Jungwok Beach Curam, A Sleman Tourist Dried By Sea Flow

DIY - A tourist from Sleman was swept away by the waters of Jungwok Beach, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Sunday 6 November.

Sadeng Beach I Operations Area Satlinmas Coordinator, Sunu Handoko Bayu Sagara, said the joint SAR team was still searching for the missing area of the teenager named Dimas Ismoyo Nugroho (23).

"Currently, the SAR and police team is still searching for victims with the help of residents and families of the victims," he said in Gunungkidul, DIY, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 6.

Handoko said this incident began when a group of tourists including Dimas arrived at Jungwok Beach at approximately 13.30 WIB.

At around 16.00 WIB, Dimas played on a relatively safe dry rock west. He broke away from his group when warned waspda against the waves sweeping did not respond.

"The victim was seen walking further to the west behind the rocks, so a warning was given by the SAR team but because it was too far so it didn't listen," said Sunu.

The SAR warning made Dimas colleagues try to approach the victim. However, when looking behind the rocks, Dimas was already seen falling into the sea and being carried away by the current to the middle.

"The SAR team immediately carried out help by throwing into the sea but the victim was quickly carried away into the middle and drowned," said Sunu.

For this incident, the Gunungkidul Regency Tourism Office, Mohammad Arif Aldian, appealed to tourists to comply with the Satlinmas SAR officers' appeal. They were also asked to be vigilant while on vacation to the beach in the midst of the recent rain of strong winds.
