TMII Opened At The End Of 2022, The Minister Of Transportation Said That The Transportation Museum Would Be Equipped With A Row Of Electric Vehicles

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi visited the Transportation Museum at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta. The museum was only revitalized on Sunday 6 November.

The Minister of Transportation said, to participate in socializing the use of electric vehicles in Indonesia, various types of electric vehicles will also be exhibited in the Transportation Museum area.

"We invite the whole community to start switching to electric vehicles that are more environmentally friendly," said the Minister of Transportation, quoted from Antara.

The Minister of Transportation also expressed his appreciation to automotive manufacturers who have supported the acceleration of the implementation of mass electric vehicles in Indonesia.

He explained that the revitalization of the museum managed by the Transportation Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) has been carried out since April 2022, along with the overall revitalization of TMII.

It is planned that the TMII area will be reopened to the general public by the end of 2022.

The revitalization carried out includes outer buildings, landscapes, interior design, as well as additional museum collections and other supporting facilities to increase visitors' attractiveness.

The Transportation Museum has an area of 6.25 hectares which includes an indoor and outdoor exhibition room.

This museum was inaugurated for the first time in 1991, which was built to collect, maintain, research, and showcase historical evidence and developments in Indonesia's transportation and its role in national development.

Visitors to the Transportation Museum are one of the museums in TMII which has the highest number of visitors.

Because it has many interesting spots, this place is often a gathering place for students and communities, such as the photography community.

"It is hoped that with the increasing variety of facilities after the revitalization, there will be more visitors, and can become a means of education to increase public knowledge and insight into the development of Indonesian transportation," he said.

Also present at the review were Director General of Land Transportation Hendro Sugiatno, Head of BPSDM Djoko Sasono, cadets and cadets within the Ministry of Transportation.
