JAKARTA - Cilincing Police, North Jakarta arrested the perpetrators of the jumping squirrel whose actions recently went viral on social media. The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police, AKP Alex Chandra, said that there were 3 perpetrators, but only 1 was arrested, namely RA (18), the man who took the truck trailer tires.

"The perpetrator with the initials RA (18) was arrested on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at around 17.00 WIB on Jalan Tipar Timur RT 008/04, Semper Barat Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta," Alex said in a written statement, Friday, November 4.

Alex said RA and his colleague JNT (19) DD (20) who entered the DPO stole a number of used tires belonging to the trailer truck driver.

The perpetrator launched his action when the road was jammed. One of the perpetrators, the initials JNT (19) took the tire on the trailer, then dropped it onto the road. Then the perpetrator RA took the tire. Meanwhile, the perpetrator DD was watching from a distance.

To investigators, RA sold three used tires to a tire repairman for Rp36 thousand. The money from the seller was flattened.

"During October, the perpetrators had acted three times," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code. Two other perpetrators are still being sought.
