The Japanese Government Picked Up Its Citizens In Wuhan City

JAKARTA - Japan reports that the first case of contracting the corona virus in their country has never traveled to China. However, Tokyo evacuated its citizens from the city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the corona virus outbreak.

The Japanese consignment plane was scheduled to depart from Tokyo for Wuhan on the evening of Tuesday, January 28. Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said his party would provide masks and protective clothing for the 200 Japanese nationals they picked up. Approximately 650 Japanese citizens previously requested government assistance to return to their country and the Japanese Government made several regulations to send flights to Wuhan.

Quoted from the Japan Times, according to the plan, after a Japanese national boarded the plane, the inspection would be carried out during the flight. Checks are carried out to find out if they have fever and cough symptoms. The examination will be carried out by a health team consisting of a doctor, two nurses and a quarantine officer.

The Japanese citizens who were picked up from Wuhan will later be asked to monitor their health for two weeks. They are required to report to the nearest public health center if they experience symptoms of the corona virus.

As of last week, some 710 Japanese were registered as living in Hubei Province, whose capital is Wuhan. The government originally planned to start sending chartered planes on Tuesday morning, but couldn't because it had not received permission from airport authorities in China. It is possible that Japan is facing scheduling difficulties because the United States (US) is also planning to evacuate US citizens from Wuhan.

Japan has previously used government and commercial aircraft to bring home Japanese nationals in troubled areas.

For your information, one of the two new cases reported in Japan is a male bus driver in his 60s. The man admitted that he did not travel to Wuhan but rode a bus that carried the tour group twice. Japan itself reports that its country has experienced six cases of the corona virus.
