Defense Minister Prabowo Calls Indonesia Continues To Create Defense Industry Business Opportunities

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto conveyed that Indonesia continues to strive to create business opportunities and technology exchanges between countries. Mainly in the defense industry ecosystem.

Therefore, Prabowo continued, as many as 905 companies participated in the largest defense exhibition in Southeast Asia, entitled Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, until Friday 5 November.

"This year's participants consist of 905 companies. As many as 105 companies from within the country, the rest are from 59 countries," Prabowo said in his remarks when opening the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 2.

Meanwhile, Prabowo said, representatives of delegates who attended came from 31 countries. They consist of 21 foreign ministers, deputy ministers, and commanders of the armed forces of friendly countries. For this reason, Prabowo said the theme of Indo Defense 2022 is peace, property, and strong defense.

In addition to JIexpo Kemayoran, the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum was held in two other locations in Jakarta simultaneously, namely the Pondok Rowing Naval Base, North Jakarta; and the South Apron Air Base (Lanud) of the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force, East Jakarta.

The opening of this event was also attended by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who arrived in a dark black suit this morning. Several other parties also attended the opening of the 2022 Indo Defense.

These include TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Yudo Margono, and 6th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Try Sutrisno.
