JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has given a deadline for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to take action against Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. If until the end of December there will be no action, a pretrial lawsuit will be filed.

"I have already stated that I want to file a pretrial lawsuit against the stalled Lukas Enembe," MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman told reporters, Tuesday, November 1.

Boyamin said time would be given to the KPK to take action against the alleged corruption suspect. However, he did not want the action that should have been taken to immediately become protracted.

"I'll wait, for a month or two, at least we'll wait until December," he said.

"Only early next year, if it is still stalled like this, I will sue for pretrial," continued Boyamin.

Meanwhile, the KPK is still keeping a secret when an independent team containing doctors from its institution and the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) will go to Jayapura to check on Lukas' condition. In fact, the regional head has expressed his readiness and ensures that he will cooperate.

"We are still waiting for their arrival (KPK)," said Lukas' attorney, Aloysius Renwarin in a written statement quoted on Monday, October 31.

The Lukas camp ensures that it will follow the inspection that will be held by the team. They also ensure the safety of the team that will depart for Jayapura.
