SAMARINDA - The central government has prepared a health service center in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, namely Sepaku District, which is designated as the core area of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago to support the development process of the new Indonesian IKN.

The central government, according to the Head of the North Penajam Paser District Health Office, Jansje Grace Makisurat in Penajam, Saturday, October 29, will improve and complete the facilities of a number of health service centers to anticipate the large number of workforce for the development of the Nusantara IKN infrastructure.

The health service centers are the Regional General Hospital or Sepaku Hospital, as well as the Sepaku Satu Health Center, Sepaku Dua Health Center, Semoi Dua Health Center and Maridan Health Center in Sepaku District.

The North Penajam Paser Regency Government also proposed adding health workers to the health service center as an effort to anticipate an increase in the need for health services in the IKN Nusantara area.

The addition of health workers is very necessary because the number of IKN workers who will enter Sepaku District reaches hundreds of thousands of people.

"The hospital and the four health centers are prepared to support health services at IKN Nusantara," he said.

The Sepaku type D hospital which was built before Sepaku District was designated as a new Indonesian core area in Sukaraja Village received DAK (special allocation fund) assistance of around Rp20; billion in 2023.

He explained that the assistance from the central government was for the procurement of medical devices (medical devices) of Rp. 8 billion and the construction of inpatient rooms of Rp. 12 billion.

Sepaku Hospital only has a capacity of 50 beds, after the inpatient room is built the capacity has increased to 100 beds.

The Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Health is also making new plans for the construction of the Sepaku Hospital, which is located in the core area of the Nusantara IKN in 2024.

The preparation of health care centers is very necessary because new Indonesian IKN development workers who enter Sepaku District will experience additional additions, said Grace Makisurat, in line with the many IKN Nusantara infrastructure development projects carried out by the central government.
