40 Teachers In West Jakarta Test Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - As many as 40 teachers and educators at 22 West Jakarta State Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) have tested positive for COVID-19. This is known from the most recent swab test received on Sunday, December 6.

"These results were obtained from 53 people who took the swab test. The results were 40 people tested positive for COVID-19 and 13 people were negative," said Head of West Jakarta MAN 22 Usman Ali in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, December 7.

Usman detailed that of the 40 people who tested positive for COVID-19, there were 30 teachers and 10 educators.

One person is being treated at the hospital, while 39 people are undergoing independent isolation at the home and the Athlete's House.

"At Wisma Athlete there are 15 people, 24 people in independent isolation, and 1 is in the hospital," he said.

Tracking the spread of COVID-19 is not only for teachers and employees who were involved in the release of the old school principal in Yogyakarta a few days ago, but also for people who have had contact with teachers who were exposed to COVID-19.

Previously, there were 30 teachers and employees who were exposed to COVID-19 at MAN 22 West Jakarta, from a series of activities to release the old school principal to Yogyakarta on November 20-25, 2020.

The madrasah was closed and had no activities since Monday, November 30. Starting from Thursday, December 3, all corners of the school will be sprayed with disinfectant liquid to break the chain of spreading the virus.
