South Kalimantan Regional Police Unveils Fraud Case Using Anesthesia Via Drinks

JAKARTA - The South Kalimantan Regional Police have uncovered an anesthetic fraud case involving five women and the suspect who was arrested, a man.

"The perpetrator MD (42) was arrested on Thursday, December 3 while on his run in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan," said Head of Sub-Directorate 3 of Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Kalsel AKBP Andy Rahmansyah in Banjarmasin, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 7.

As many as five women were victims of fraud by a man with the crime of anesthesia in South Kalimantan.

The police moved to arrest the perpetrator after a victim, RH (60), reported to the Banjarmasin Police because his belongings in the form of gold jewelry, motorbikes, and cash with a total loss of Rp. 29,750,000 were taken away.

"According to the victim's confession, the perpetrator gave a type of herbal drink until the victim was unconscious," he said.

After conducting an investigation, the Banjarmasin Police, supported by the South Kalimantan Regional Police Resmob Unit, led by the Head of Resmob AKP Agus Rusdi, managed to detect the whereabouts of the perpetrators in Balikpapan.

The Kaltim Police Resmob Unit and the South Balikpapan Police Buser assisted in the arrest of the suspect on Jalan Sepinggang Baru, Balikpapan Selatan District, Balikpapan City.

As a result of police interrogation, the suspect admitted to having committed his crimes five times in the jurisdiction of the South Kalimantan Regional Police.

The mode was, after acquaintance with the woman, the suspect then seduced the victim to be invited to a hotel and given an anesthetic drug to make the victim fall asleep and unconscious. Then the victim's property was taken away.

The local police are continuing to handle the case according to the law.
