Jokowi Testasis Pusat Dan Daerah Terus Bergerak Menjalkan Inflasi

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the central and regional governments continue to move to control inflation with a number of efforts. One of them is by subsidizing transportation costs for commodities that are experiencing price increases.

"We, the government and governors, regents, mayors, also move with what, the transportation costs of goods that have experienced an increase are closed from the APBD. This will also reduce the increase in the price of goods and services," said President Jokowi after handing over social assistance in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Tuesday, October 25, reported by Antara.

The local government (Pemda), said President Jokowi, is given the flexibility to subsidize the cost of transportation of goods through unexpected expenditure budgets and the General Transfer Fund (DTU) of two percent.

With this policy, the President said, the prices of goods in the market as of Tuesday were quite stable.

"Only one item went up, earlier kale, that's all," said President Jokowi, who is also scheduled to visit the Klandasan Market in Balikpapan.

In line with that, the President continued, Bank Indonesia (BI) as the monetary authority also controls inflation with the 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate benchmark interest rate instrument.

According to Bank Indonesia data, the 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate policy rate has been raised by 50 basis points in October 2022 to 4.75 percent.

In Balikpapan, President Jokowi distributed wage subsidy assistance and also Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for fuel oil (BBM). According to government data, as of Tuesday, BBM BLT has been distributed 99.7 percent of the total recipients, while wage subsidy assistance has been distributed 72 percent of the total recipients.
