Immigration Ngurai Rai Prepares A Preventing Strategy For The Conclusion Of The G20 Summit Delegation

JAKARTA - Immigration Ngurah Rai has prepared a strategy to prevent the accumulation of queues for delegates from the G20 Summit at the Arrival Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, which is expected to arrive on November 8 or D-7 ahead of the G20 Summit.

Head of the Immigration Office (Kakanim) Class I Special for TPI Ngurah Rai Sugito in a statement received in Denpasar, Sunday, said his party would use four inspection counters with 16 officers in the event of a build-up of the arrival of the G20 delegation.

"We will calculate the burden. If there are more than 720 (people queuing) or approaching there (immigration counters), we will use several counters for general passengers. We add 16 personnel to help 12 officers specifically serve the G20 delegation. So, there are 28 of our officers who are ready to serve the G20 delegation," said Sugito on the sidelines of a review at the Arrival Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

On the same occasion, Sugito said that until now there are three special examination counters for the G20 delegation who are ready to welcome them at the Arrival Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Each special counter is filled with four officers, so a total of 12 officers are on standby to check the completeness of immigration documents for foreign delegates.

The special counter for the G20 delegation is different from the usual service immigration counter. The special counter for the G20 delegation contained a banner and a sign that read "G20 Indonesia 2022 Immigration Check Point".

Sugito explained that not all foreign delegates underwent examination at the Arrival Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

VVIP guests who are heads of state or heads of government will undergo a special inspection at the VVIP Building, while ministerial-level VIP guests undergo inspections at the VIP Building. The inspections at the VVIP Building and VIP Building used special mobile units, currently available as many as 21 units.

Meanwhile, regarding the anticipation of accumulation during peak hours, Immigration Ngurah Rai continues to coordinate with relevant ministries and non-ministerial government agencies (K/L), especially regarding information on the arrival of delegates.

"For these delegates, there are those who use a commercial flight, there are special flights. For delegates who use a commercial flight, busy hours are usually from 14.00 WITA to 18.00 WITA; and from 20.00 WITA to 22.00 WITA. It's peak time at Ngurah Rai Airport," explained Sugito.

He added that the three special G20 counters can check the immigration documents of the 720 delegates every hour, so that long queues at immigration counters can be anticipated.

"However, we have anticipated that, we are working with relevant ministries as organizers to get a list of when delegates arrive at the airport, so we can anticipate the completion of their immigration which does not take too long," said Sugito.
