The Mayor Of Makassar Orders The Sidak Apotek Health Office, Wants To Make Sure The Five Sirop Drugs Withdrawed By BPOM Are Not In The Region

MAKASSAR - The Food and Drug Administration has attracted five types of child sirop drugs on the market. This is related to cases of acute kidney failure that are troubling the public.

Five types of sirop drugs were withdrawn by BPOM, including the Thermorex Sirup produced by PT Konnimex, Flurin DMP Sirup (cough and flu medicine) produced by PT Yarindo Farmatama, Unibebi Cough Sirup (cough and flu medicine) produced by Universal Pharmaceutical Industries.

Then there is Unibebi Sirup Fever ( fever medicine) produced by Universal Pharmaceutical Industries, and Unibebi Fever Drops ( fever medicine) produced by Universal Pharmaceutical Industries.

The drug was withdrawn because it contained Ethilen Glikol (EG) and Dietilen Glikol (DEG) which exceeded the safe threshold. Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto immediately ordered the health office to immediately conduct inspections at pharmacies in his area. He wants to ensure that there are no more five types of drugs in Makassar.

"The Health Service immediately carried out an inspection because the BPOM had withdrawn five Gunambun," he said in Makassar, as reported by Antara, Saturday, October 22.

"So the supervision authorization is at the Health Office and it is assisted by the Satpol PP. There must be (sidak), we will immediately prepare to bring this order," he added.

The man who is familiarly called Danny is concerned about the high number of cases of children suffering from acute kidney problems. He also appealed to all pharmacies not to sell drugs that were prohibited by BPOM for the health of the people of Makassar City, especially children.

"I also ask pharmacies with my own awareness to make withdrawals before the enforcement of this ban is carried out massively," he said.

Although there have been no cases of acute kidney failure in children in Makassar, Danny asked the Health Office to monitor children being hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Makassar Health Office, Dr. Nursaidah Sirajuddin, said that his party had issued a notification letter to the hospital in charge, puskesmas, clinics, pharmacies, and drug stores throughout Makassar City.

In Notification Number: 440/2670/PSDK/X/2022 issued by the Makassar Health Office on October 20, health workers are advised by health care workers not to predetermine free and/or free drugs in the form of sirops to the public.

"All pharmacies and drug stores do not sell free and/or free drugs in the form of Sirajuddin until an official announcement is made by the government in accordance with statutory provisions," said Dr. Nursaidah Sirajuddin.
