The Bribery Of The Pemalang Regent Will Soon Be Tried At The Semarang Corruption Court

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has handed over indictments and case files of four defendants who bribed the inactive Pemalang Regent, Mukti Agung Wibowo, in the alleged bribery case of buying and selling positions in Pemalang Regency, Central Java. The four of them will be tried in the near future.

The defendants who will be tried at the Semarang Corruption Court, namely the Acting (Pj) Secretary of Pemalang Regency Slamet Masduki, Head of the Pemalang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sugiyanto, Head of the Pemalang Regency Communication and Information Service Yanuaris Nitbani, and Head of the PUPR Office of Pemalang Regency Mohammad Saleh.

"KPK Prosecutor Palupi Wiryawan, Thursday (October 20) has finished transferring case files and indictments with the defendant Slamet Masduki and his friends as bribes for the Pemalang Regent to the Corruption Court at the Semarang District Court," said Acting KPK spokesman Ipi Maryati Kuding, Friday, October 21.

Ipi said the detention of the four defendants is currently under the authority of the Semarang Corruption Court. The defendants are currently being held at the KPK Detention Center Pomdam Jaya Guntur branch, Jakarta.

"For the first trial with the agenda of reading the indictment, the team of prosecutors is still waiting for the issuance of the day of the trial and the appointment of a panel of judges from the young corruption clerk," said Ipi.

In the case that began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Thursday, August 11, the KPK has named six suspects. The recipients are the inactive Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung Wibowo and Adi Jumal Widodo from the private sector or PD Aneka Usaha Commissioner.

In the construction of the case, the KPK explained that the suspect Mukti, after several months of being inaugurated as the Regent of Pemalang, reshuffled and reorganized positions for several echelons within Pemalang Regency.

According to Mukti's direction, the Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) of Pemalang Regency has opened an open selection for the position of Pratama High Leadership in Pemalang Regency.

In fulfilling the position of office, the KPK suspected that there was further direction and Mukti's order asking the prospective participants to prepare a sum of money if they wanted to be passed. Furthermore, Adi, Mukti's confidant, included the money given in cash into his bank account for Mukti's needs.

The amount of money for each position varies according to level and echelon, ranging from Rp. 60 million to Rp. 350 million. The officials who gave bribes for positions in Pemalang Regency were Slamet for the position of Acting Secretary, Sugiyanto for the Head of BPBD, Yanuaris for the Head of Kominfo, and Saleh for the Head of PUPR.

Regarding the fulfillment of positions in Pemalang Regency Government, Mukti through Adi is suspected of having received a sum of money from several ASN in Pemalang Regency and from other parties in the amount of around Rp. 4 billion.

The KPK also suspects that Mukti has received money from other private parties regarding his position as regent of around Rp. 2.1 billion and this will continue to be investigated further by the KPK.
