DPRD Wants Central Jakarta Mayor Candidates To Be Able To Tidy Up Tanah Abang Arrangement

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission A DPRD DKI Mujiyono wants the candidate for Mayor of Central Jakarta to guarantee that he is able to complete the arrangement of the Tanah Abang area.

This, said Mujiyono, is one of the materials that will be used as an assessment of the fit and proper test of the candidates for the Mayor of Central Jakarta. The candidate is the Head of the DKI Population and Civil Registration Service, Dhany Sukma.

"He must finish the existing homework. The most dominant one is the arrangement of the Tanah Abang area. The area must be arranged in such a way so that it does not get stuck again," Mujiyono told reporters, Friday, December 4.

In addition, Mujiyono also asked the candidate for Mayor of Central Jakarta to curb slum settlements in his area. This is because Central Jakarta is the central location of the Capital City.

"It is necessary to establish settlements because in Central Jakarta there are many buildings and apartments. People from outside Jakarta can enter freely. The fear is that there is people smuggling there, we don't know," he said.

Mujiyono said that the fit and proper test would be carried out by Dhany as a candidate for Mayor of Central Jakarta on Tuesday, December 8 at the DPRD DKI Building.

Previously reported, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan offered the name of the candidate for Mayor of Central Jakarta to replace Bayu Meghantara, who was removed due to negligence in the crowd of Rizieq Shihab in Petamburan.

This was stated in a letter to the Chairman of the DKI Regional Parliament, Prasetio Edi Marsudi. Anies offered the name of the Head of the DKI Population and Civil Registration Service, Dhany Sukma and asked for advice from Prasetio.

Responding to this, Prasetio said that he had received the letter naming him. Prasetio said that his party was conducting a background check on Dhany's performance.

According to him, this was done because not just any civil servant could meet the requirements for the position of Mayor of Central Jakarta. The person who will become the Mayor of Central Jakarta must have experience in managing the area. Moreover, the center of the Capital City is the most strategic location in Jakarta.

"If he has never previously led the region, that's difficult. Because Central Jakarta is very strategic. There are State Palace, City Hall, DPRD, to slum areas in Johar and Tanah Tinggi. He has to control it," said Prasetio.
