TGIPF Reports GIVEn To Jokowi: Death Toll, Defs Until Criticality Confirmed To Force Due To Eye Gas

JAKARTA - 132 people's lives were lost in tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Malang Stadium. They - including the disabled and still critical - were confirmed to be victims of tear gas.

This point is one of the conclusions of the Independent Fact Finding Joint Team whose report has been submitted to President Joko Widodo, Friday, October 14.

The head of the Mahfud MD Team explained firmly that all the victims who died, were disabled and to the critical extent, confirmed to be due to jostling out of the Kanjuruhan Stadium. They panicked, scattered out due to excessive tear gas from the police.

"That's the culprit," said Mahfud MD at the Presidential Office, Friday, October 14.

Regarding tear gas, which has reportedly passed from the validity period, is being researched by BRIN. To what extent is the level of danger to human health conditions, so one is being sought.

"But whatever the results of BRIN's examination, it cannot reduce the conclusion that mass deaths were mainly caused by tear gas," he said.

Mahfud said, the horror of the videos and photos circulating regarding the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Malang Stadium was nothing compared to their findings.

TGIPF managed to reconstruct all events from 32 CCTVs that recorded real-time events at that time.

Mahfud MD recounted that the CCTV was recorded when someone hand in hand tried to save himself from leaving the stadium. Arema FC supporters scattered out due to excessive tear gas from the police.

One of those who held hands was left inside the stadium. The other finally tried to come back to save.

"Those who are outside again to help their friends, were trampled to death," said Mahfud.

There is another tragic story. When someone tries to help people breathe because of difficulties.

"It's spray too, it's dead, it's there too," he continued.

"It's more terrible than what's circulating," he said.
