The Cianjur Regency Government of West Java provides an Unexpected Cost (BTT) budget of IDR 20 billion for disaster and emergencies, including rebuilding classrooms and bridges damaged by natural disasters.
Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said that since the last two weeks a number of sub-districts in the area have been hit by floods, landslides, and moving land. As a result, dozens of houses were heavily, moderately, and lightly damaged, including a number of school buildings.
"So we have prepared a budget for disaster management which is an emergency, which will be taken from BTT which has been prepared in the amount of Rp. 20 billion. Its designation includes the rebuilding of damaged houses, school buildings and broken bridges," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Thursday, October 13.
However, the budget is prioritized for emergencies, such as the handling of schools in Campaka District which was damaged by natural disasters which will be directly rebuilt with the BTT budget.
In addition, the handling of the suspension bridge that was damaged was in Leles District due to being hit by heavy currents.
BTT will also be allocated for the relocation of four houses in Selagedang Village, Cibeber District, which were heavily damaged by landslides accompanied by moving land which are planned to be moved to village land which is considered safe from the disaster, while other houses will be moved gradually.
"For the relocation, there are priorities to return to home, some are only assisted stimulantly for residents who are considered to have sufficient economic standards. The initial relocation of four houses that were heavily damaged was continued in stages for dozens of other families in the same village," he said.
Herman added that BTT will also be used for handling other emergencies, including economic recovery and reducing the inflation rate, as well as providing direct cash assistance to residents affected by fuel price adjustments.
"We also use BTT to provide direct cash assistance to tourism actors in a number of sub-districts from the north to the south of Cianjur, including for hundreds of fishermen on the southern coast of Cianjur," he said.
