The KPK Setor Fines Rp900 Million From The Former Muara Enim Regent Ahmad Yani To The State Treasury

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deposited Rp900 million in the state treasury from paying fines and installments for replacement money for corruption convict former Muara Enim Regent, Ahmad Yani. Ahmad Yani is a convict in a bribery case related to projects at the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office of Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. "Execution Prosecutor Andry Prihandono through the KPK Finance Bureau has deposited it into the state treasury in the form of fines and installments of replacement money which are the obligations of the convict Ahmad Yani in the amount of Rp900 million," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, October 11. Ali explained that the payment of a fine from the convict Ahmad Yani in the amount of Rp. 200 million had been paid off while the replacement money that should have been paid was Rp. 2.1 billion, as stated in the judge's decision, there was still Rp. 1.4 billion left. "The collection of the remaining replacement money will soon be carried out by the prosecutor as one of the asset recovery results from the corruption enjoyed by the convict in question," added Ali. In February 2021, the KPK has executed Ahmad Yani to the Palembang State Detention Center (Rutan) based on the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 256K/Pid.Sus/2021 dated January 26, 2021 in conjunction with the Corruption Court Decision at PT Palembang Number: 3/PID.SUS-TPK/2020/PT Plg dated July 13, 2020 in conjunction with the Decision of the Corruption Court at the Palembang District Court Number: 32/Pid.Sus-TPK/2019/PN.Plg dated May 5, 2020. Previously, the Supreme Court (MA) Cassation Panel of Judges increased Ahmad Yani's sentence to seven years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to six months in prison and the obligation to pay compensation of Rp. 2.1 billion. At the first instance, the Palembang Corruption Court sentenced Ahmad Yani to five years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to six months in prison and pay compensation of Rp. 2.1 billion. Ahmad Yani, through an intermediary of the former head of Road Development and Commitment Making Officer (PPK) at the PUPR Office of Muara Enim Regency, Elfin MZ Muhtar, arranged the distribution of project fees in Muara Enim Regency. Elfin has a role as Ahmad Yani's accomplice who linked him to Robi Okta Fahlevi from a private element or the owner of PT Enra Sari to take on the role of implementing 16 work packages in Muara Enim Regency worth Rp130 billion from the aspiration fund of the Muara Enim DPRD for Fiscal Year 2019. Elfin has also been sentenced and found guilty by being sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to six months in prison by the Palembang Corruption Court.
