Reasons For The Police Calling Eggi Sudjana: Kapolda Wants To Solve Old Cases

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya explained the reason behind the summons to question Eggi Sudjana for the alleged treason case that occurred in 2019. The reason was that there was a direct order from the Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran to settle the pending case.

"The new Kapolda, Mr. Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran, is indeed one of the programs is how to solve old cases," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Wednesday, December 2.

In addition to the order to immediately settle the case, the examination of Eggi Sudjana, continued Yusri, was to complete the investigation file. Because since June 24 there has been no clarity on the case.

"Now this case is continuing because indeed the priority scale of the program is also to resolve old cases, concerning the problem which Eggi is a matter of treason," said Yusri.

So far there has been no progress on the case from either the police or the prosecutor's office even though the investigation files have been submitted for phase 1.

"We summon this to complete (the file), if we are called as a suspect, we will proceed," he said.

Eggi Sudjana is scheduled to be questioned on Thursday, December 3 for the alleged treason case. This case started with Eggi's statement about 'people power'. He made this call in front of Prabowo Subianto's house, who was then a presidential candidate.

Eggi Sudjana was suspected of Article 107 KUHP and / or 110 KUHP in conjunction with Article 87 KUHP and or Article 14 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 and or Article 15 of Law Number 1 Year 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
