JAKARTA - Barkah (70) an elderly resident of Jalan Raya Kalibata, Cawang 3, RW 05, East Jakarta, was evacuated by the SAR team during a flood around the area. The victim was evacuated by the SAR team in the early hours of Monday, October 10, to a safe place from floodwaters.

Head of the Jakarta SAR Office, Fazzli, confirmed that a resident was evacuated by the SAR team from the Flood area in East Jakarta.

"From the early hours of the morning we have prepared rescue personnel in the East Jakarta area to carry out monitoring and evacuation processes if needed," Fazzli said when confirmed by VOI, Monday, October 10.

Fazzli said that until now, rescue personnel from the Jakarta SAR Office are still on standby in flood-prone areas until conditions are under control.

As is known, Katulampa's floodgate status since Sunday night, October 9, has shown a dangerous status (alert 1). The warning was also given to residents who live on the banks of the Ciliwung River to be vigilant.

"The Jakarta SAR office that received the information immediately sent rescue personnel to locations prone to flooding at several points in DKI Jakarta," he said.

The movement of the SAR team began in the early hours of Monday, October 10, where the Ciliwung river will increase its water flow to arrive in Jakarta in about 8 hours a morning.

The joint SAR team then gathered under the Kalibata flyover (East Jakarta) to divide the monitoring area for flood disaster operations.

Fazzli explained that the flood points that inundated the East Jakarta area were in Balekambang Village with a water level of 80 cm.

"In Bidara Cina Village, the water inundation height is 60 to 100 cm. In Kampung Melayu Village, the water inundation height is 30 to 50 cm and Kramat Jati Village, the water inundation height is 80 to 200 cm," he said.

Previously, some residents who were on the banks of the river had also made efforts to evacuate independently after an early warning from the DKI Jakarta BPBD.
