Five Cars Of Concrete Accidents On Jalan Lintas Bukittinggi-Padang Panjang, Satu Korban Alam Patah Tulang Celap

BUKITTINGGI - Five cars had accidents in a row on Jalan Lintas Bukittinggi - Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, Friday, October 7, evening local time.

Kasatlantas Polres Bukittinggi, AKP Ghanda Novidiningrat said, there were nine victims who suffered injuries and bruises in this incident. One of the victims suffered a broken neck and had to be referred to RS M. Jamil Padang City.

"Luckily there were no casualties, one victim on behalf of Muriasman was referred to M Jamil Padang Hospital due to serious injuries," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, October 8.

Ghanda then explained that the accident site, precisely at kilometer 04, was only a few meters from the intersection of Padang Outer Market, Agam Regency. He said this accident began with a truck that had failed brakes.

The truck then hit a vehicle that was traveling in the same direction in front of it before it stopped because it also hit a resident's house and shop.

"Because the brakes failed on the number BG 8323 UD truck carrying palm oil, it hit Luxio B 1341 VVJ, Hiace BM 7033 TP, a Honda HRV BA 1562 ME and a BA 6215 ZN motorcycle," he said.

From the scene of the incident, Luxio bounced across the street, HRV and Hiace were badly damaged all over, while the truck fell into a ditch.

This accident caused a long traffic jam to and from Bukittinggi City, Padang Panjang because of the evacuation process and crowds of residents who saw directly at the location.

Luxio was first evacuated, followed by HRV and a motorcycle two hours after the incident, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital.

"We have secured the truck driver in the name of Edi Candra, a resident of West Pasaman, he is cooperative and explained all the chronology," said Kasat.

The evacuation process was chaotic because there were unscrupulous residents who were caught stealing a cell phone belonging to one of the victims who was left in one of the cars involved in an accident.

"Recorded on camera by residents who documented the incident, residents will be able to judge because they are upset, fortunately, the police officers were quickly arrested and taken to the Resort Police," said Hendra.

It is known, the truck has experienced a failed brake since one kilometer from the crash site and was speeding away from other vehicles that were driving in front of it.

"I was one of those who managed to avoid this truck, I saw it was going so fast and it wobbled until we were forced to pull over to dodge, it was true, it brake failed and another vehicle was hit even though the truck driver had tried to dodge, it was terrible to see it," said another resident, Al.
