Muhaimin Iskandar Said, Prabowo-Cak Imin Is Ready To Run In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) DPP Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) said it is very likely that the Prabowo Subianto duo and he will run as presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 election.

"God willing. Yes, we are waiting for the announcement," said PKB DPP General Chair Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar in Jakarta, Friday night.

This was conveyed in the PKB activity in a series carrying the theme "Indonesian Law" at the East Jakarta Sports Center.

When asked about the National Democratic Party (NasDem) which has determined the presidential candidate in the 2024 election, Cak Imin as he is familiarly called said that he would first look at political developments.

"Yes, we'll see the progress, who is the partner and how, we'll just have to wait," he said as quoted by Antara.

In addition, the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period said that after the NasDem Party appointed DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate, the opportunity to form a coalition with the party created by Surya Paloh was relatively small.

"Yes, it's a bit difficult because they already have their respective candidates," he explained.

Until now, PKB is known to have established political communication with several parties including the Gerindra party. In fact, the two of them came together to register as a political party for prospective participants in the 2024 General Election.

Besides Cak Imin, a number of religious leaders are planned to attend the PKB Berselawat activity, namely Habib Jindan Bin Novel Bin Jindan, Habib Sholeh Bin Bagir Bin Al lefti, Habib Muhammad Bin Ali Assegaf, Habib Ali Bin Abdurrahman Al Habsyi Kwitang, Habib Hasan Bin Abdul Qodir Al Attas, and KH Manarul Hidayat.
