JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named a suspect in connection with the alleged bribery in managing the extension of the cultivation right (HGU) by officials at the Regional Office of the Riau Province Land Agency. The decision was made after developing a bribery case that ensnared the inactive Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Andi Putra. "KPK has named several parties as suspects," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement, Friday, October 7. Ali ensured that the investigation was carried out according to the applicable law. The collection of evidence through the summons of witnesses and searches has been carried out. However, the KPK will not announce the suspects because the detention process has not yet been carried out. "The suspect, the chronology of the alleged criminal act, and the article that is suspected to be announced when the investigation of this case is sufficient," he said. The KPK ensures that each development of the case will continue to be conveyed. The public is asked to be patient and continue to monitor the investigation of the case. "The process of collecting evidence has now been carried out, including by summoning related parties as witnesses, including searches in several places," said Ali. "Every development of this investigation, we will always convey it to the public so that the investigation of this case is in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he concluded.
