Not Fulfilling Police Calls, Rizieq Shihab Needs Rest And Daughter-in-Law Has Other Activities

JAKARTA - The Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab and his son-in-law, Hanif Alatas, have certainly failed to comply with the summons for investigations from the Jakarta Police. They do not attend for their own reasons.

FPI lawyer, Aziz Yanuar said, the reason for Rizieq Shihab's absence was because he still needed time to recover his physical condition. This is because Rizieq has recently returned from the hospital.

"Still resting, we know that he just returned from the Ummi Hospital, Bogor, after resting there so he is still recovering," said Aziz to reporters, Tuesday, December 1.

The reasons for Rizieq's absence from questioning have also been conveyed to investigators. So, in the near future investigators will send a second summons.

"Today he is not absent, he is represented by us by the legal aid team," he said.

Meanwhile, the reason for Hanif Alatas' absence was due to other activities. The reason was presented by his attorney Kamil Pasha who participated in presenting a statement regarding this matter.

"Sorry we have not been able to fulfill the summons because Habib Hanif already had a schedule when he was called," he said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said investigators had already prepared a follow-up scheme if Rizieq Shihab did not attend the summons for investigation. Investigators will send a second summons to have Rizieq questioned on Thursday, November 3.

"We schedule it for Thursday, we will make another summons, a second call," said Yusri.

The status of the case for alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) for the wedding ceremony of Rizieq Shihab's daughter has been upgraded from investigation to investigation.

Based on the title of the case, the police found an alleged violation of Law number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine. Currently investigators are gathering evidence that supports the alleged violation.

Investigators are looking for evidence by examining a number of witnesses. Therefore, tomorrow the Polda Metro Jaya will examine Rizieq Shihab, his son-in-law Irfan Alaydrus and the FPI Legal Division.
