JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) commemorated the 77th Anniversary on Wednesday, October 5. Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives assessed that the TNI was getting more mature at its new age. Both in relation to organizational arrangements, personnel, equipment, and out of efforts to carry out tasks according to the law, as well as formulating forms of threats and challenges faced. "From a policy perspective, I appreciate the TNI Commander who has been giving birth to breakthroughs, ranging from recruitment of soldiers, gender-friendly and humanist policies, as well as law enforcement of personnel as a form of response to the TNI with the development and dynamics according to the needs of the times," said Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Christina Aryani, to reporters, Wednesday, October 5.

But despite the existing achievements, continued Christina, this 77th Anniversary is the right time to remind the TNI of some homework.

First, regarding improving the welfare of soldiers who need budget support. Commission I of the DPR, said Christina, is committed to encouraging immediate solutions regarding budgeting. "So that the welfare of the soldiers can be improved," said the Golkar politician.

Second, regarding the increase in the ability and capacity of soldiers that must continue to be developed according to the challenges and dynamics of the existing strategic environment. For Commission I of the DPR in charge of defense, the capacity and capability of TNI soldiers as superior human resources must be an important concern. Both in terms of military science, as well as qualified and trained academics.

"With superior human resources, we believe soldiers are able to manned the latest military technology. Such as the use of unmanned systems, both robots and artificial intelligence as well as cyber defense. Also important for enlisted and non-commissioned officers to have English language skills," he explained.

Third, the TNI must continue to ensure that it is solid, not easily pitted against sheep, creating friction, especially when it appears on the surface and becomes the consumption of the wider community.

"Solidity is a fixed price, because there we maintain the dignity of this institution so that it remains respected," said Christina.

Fourth, before political years in the future, Commission I of the DPR reminded the TNI to remain able to maintain the oath of soldiers to remain upright in state politics, not practical politics.

"Moreover, it is used for the affairs of power politics," he said.

Fifth, the challenges of separatist groups, especially in Papua, which tend to increase their escalation, must be a special concern. So that the humane efforts made can be successful properly.

"Hopefully our TNI will be more advanced, modern and professional. We are the 77th TNI Dirgahayu, the TNI is us," concluded Christina Aryani.
