SOLO - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka asked supporters of Persis Solo to learn from the Kanjuruhan incident, Malang which resulted in the death of more than a hundred football supporters. "I urge Pasoepati, Surakartans friends and others to remain orderly in the next Persis matches, whether it's away or home," he said in Solo, Antara, Monday, October 3. He asked the fans to remain calm, orderly, and not be provoked by a commotion when accompanying Persis during the match. "We learn from this mistake. This is the important thing, my job is to appeal to friends in Solo," he said. When asked about anticipatory steps if there were riots involving supporters, according to him, security should be considered more. "Yesterday's security, I saw that the problem of tear gas triggered a lot of pros and cons," he said. Meanwhile, when asked about the threat of sanctions from FIFA, one of which is the possibility of Indonesia being lifted from hosting the 2023 U-20 World Cup, he hopes that this will not happen considering that Solo is one of the hosts of the event.
