PSSI Forms Of The Tracing Investigation Team At The Malang Stadium

JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) formed an investigative team to investigate the riots that occurred after the Indonesian League 1 match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Saturday, October 1.

"The chairman of PSSI and the management of the President Director of the New Indonesia League (LIB) along with the directors, the disciplinary committee (Komdis) and current members and will soon arrive in Malang to conduct an investigation and will coordinate with the security forces, Panpel and including the Arema Malang club," PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi told reporters, Sunday, October 2.

He expressed deep condolences for the incident at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, which killed at least hundreds of Aremania supporters.

PSSI said it was very sorry for the incident. He hopes that there will be no more things like this in the world of football.

His party is also waiting for the results of the investigation later.

He said the chairman of PSSI would accompany the Minister of Youth and Sports and the National Police Chief in Malang today.

"God willing, the temporary results found from the PSSI will be conveyed directly in Malang later. It will be communicated by our media who are already in Malang," he said.

Later, he said, the results of the PSSI investigation and the security forces would be revealed as soon as possible.

"The Investigative Team was directly led by the chairman of PSSI. There are three executives who are also there along with PT LIB and the Committee," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the deadly riot that occurred at the Malang Kanjuruhan Stadium after the host Arema FC lost 2-3 to Persebaya in the 11th week of league 1 2022/2023, Saturday, October 1, yesterday, killing 127 people on the football field.

The announcement of the deaths of hundreds of people who died was delivered directly by the East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta.

"In this incident, 127 people died, two of whom were members of the National Police," he said at a press conference in Malang, Sunday, October 2.
