Anies' Subordinates Said That The Revitalization Of The TransJ Roundabout HI Bus Ganggu Cultural Conservation Stop: Construction Of Continued Roads

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Culture Service said that the revitalization of the TransJakarta Bus Stop at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout did not interfere with the position of the HI Roundabout area and the Welcome Statue as an Object suspected of Cultural Conservation (ODCG).

"I'm just worried about this in terms of views, visually. But it doesn't interfere with the position of the HI Roundabout and the Welcome Statue as a cultural heritage," said Head of the DKI Culture Office Iwan Wardhana in Jakarta, Friday, September 30.

Iwan instead encouraged the bus stop revitalization project with the shape resembling the boat to continue.

"So I'm not worried, I said keep going (development)," he added as quoted by Antara.

He admitted visually that the three-story bus stop revitalization project would hinder eye views, especially when crossing from Sarinah's direction because it intersects about 1.5 meters from the top floor deck of the bus stop.

The findings, he said, were obtained when his party visited the project when it had been carried out some time ago.

TransJakarta, he said, as the one holding the project, did not apply to receive input or recommendations through the Restoration Session Team (TSP) session before the project was built.

"Currently the request from TransJakarta is not yet, but the program is already running. Just let it run. Later, if we meet the needs, or there is an offense regarding cultural heritage, we can hold a trial," he said.

Even so, he added, even if there are recommendations from the Restoration Session Team or the Cultural Conservation Expert Team, it is not absolute.

"This recommendation is a record of expertise given by experts who have a scientific background in accordance with the needs of the applicant to comply with the rules of preserving cultural heritage. But, there are but, he is not absolute," added Iwan.

Meanwhile, member of the Candrian Cultural Heritage Expert Team Attahiyyat said that apart from the HI Roundabout Bus Stop, the Tosari Bus Stop was also suspected of violating the ODCG area.

In addition to the two things in Central Jakarta, he said, another bus stop that is being revitalized is also in Jatinegara which is suspected of violating the cultural heritage area because it is in front of a church.

"The problem is not only at the Indonesian Hotel (Bundaran) but also in Jatinegara," he said.

Previously, historian JJ Rizal protested the revitalization of the TransJakarta Roundabout HI Bus Stop because it was deemed to have violated the ODCG, which treated it the same as cultural heritage.

JJ Rizal, who is also a member of the TSP, asked that the construction of the iconic stop be stopped.

TransJakarta revitalize 46 stops, including one at the HI Roundabout in 2022 with a total budget of Rp600 billion. The Tosari Bus Stop, Dukuh Atas Bus Stop, HI Roundabout Bus Stop, and Sarinah Bus Stop were rebuilt to become iconic bus stops.
