Kejari Sets East Flores BPBD Treasurer DPO For Corruption Cases For COVID-19 Funds 2020

NTT - The East Flores District Attorney's Office (Kejari) has determined that the PLT, Treasurer of the East Flores Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), is on the wanted list (DPO).

PLT three times missed the summons of the Prosecutor's Office investigators in the examination of the alleged corruption case in the management of funds to accelerate the handling of COVID-19 for the 2020 East Flores budget year.

"The East Flores Prosecutor's Office has determined the status of a DPO against a PLT suspect for not being cooperative with the investigator's summons," said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province High Prosecutor's Office Abdul Hakim in Kupang, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 30.

Dari perkara yang menjerat PLT, kerugian negara ditaksir lebih dari Rp1,5 miliar. Abdul meminta agar PLT segera menyerahkan diri ke Kejaksaan untuk diperiksa sebagai tersangka kasus dugaan korupsi pengelolaan dana COVID-19 tahun 2020 Flores Timur.

"We hope that the suspect will surrender himself to the prosecutor's office so that the legal process for this case will be completed quickly," said Abdul.

Apart from PLT, the Prosecutor's Office has named two other suspects in this alleged corruption case. Both are PIG as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of East Flores and AHB as the Chief Executive of East Flores BPBD.

PIG and AHB have been detained by investigators from the East Flores Prosecutor's Office last week.

This case began when refocusing budget activities and reallocations to accelerate the handling of COVID-19. The East Flores BPBD office received an allocation of an unexpected expenditure fund of Rp. 6.5 billion for the emergency handling of the disaster.

However, Abdul said, the accountability report was not supported by evidence in accordance with the applicable regulations in the report on the use of COVID-19 relief funds.
