Need Synergy To Keep ASN Netality In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The Director General of Politics and General Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bahtiar emphasized the importance of synergy to maintain the neutrality of ASN in the 2024 simultaneous elections. "How to present honest, fair elections, Bawaslu's work must be carried out together, the Ministry of Home Affairs supports Bawaslu to ensure that regional heads comply with this rule," Bahtiar said, Tuesday, September 27, quoted from Antara. Bahtiar conveyed this after attending the Bawaslu Coordination Meeting and Regional Heads in realizing ASN Netity in the 2024 General Election. He said the ASN Law places employment supervisors in the regions as regional heads so that in realizing ASN neutrality, synergy is needed with regional heads and various other stakeholders, including the Ministry of Home Affairs. ASN continued, he also has the principle of neutrality mandated in Law Number 5 of 2014 concerning the ASN. In this regulation, according to him, it is stated that ASN is prohibited from being a member and/or administrator of political parties. ASN is also mandated not to take sides with any form of influence and does not favor of anyone's interests. "I think this is a good innovation from Bawaslu, there is an integrity pact because it is known that Bawaslu does not have enough hands because it is known that ASN friends, KPU, the community, all contestants are also monitored by Bawaslu," he said. With the neutrality of the ASN, according to him, it is hoped that the implementation of the election will fulfill the principles of honesty and justice so that the results can be trusted and accepted by the community and the world.

"Anyone may make various criteria for elections, but basically bring public trust, the public believes, the international community believes, is the election in Indonesia running smoothly? To carry out this, all actors related to elections must maintain integrity," he said. Then, Bahtiar explained that ASN development is indeed beyond the authority of election organizers but of course it is a factor that affects the quality of contestation in elections and regional elections, therefore the neutrality of ASN is important to maintain.
