JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno let go of their homesickness at the Gerindra DKI Regional Work Meeting. Anies attended to meet the invitation as the Governor of DKI, while Sandiaga as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra DPP.

In his remarks, Anies welcomed Sandiaga who returned to being a Gerindra cadre. This former Deputy Governor of DKI had resigned from the Gerindra DPP to run as a candidate for Vice President.

"To the Deputy Governor of DKI 2017-2018, Sandiaga, applause for Mr. Sandi. Welcome back, Bro," Anies exclaimed accompanied by applause from the Gerindra DPD Rakorda participants at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, Sunday, January 26.

Continuing his remarks, Anies claimed that the poverty rate in Jakarta had decreased during his tenure since 2017. The poverty rate in 2019 has occupied the smallest portion in the last 5 years.

"Since September 2017, the percentage of our poor population is 3.7. Then it has decreased, now it has reached 3.42 and we will continue to decrease it," said Anies.

Then, it was Sandi's turn to deliver his speech. As someone who has accompanied Anies to lead Jakarta for one year, he admits that he has a longing for himself.

"What I respect, our Governor, my former boss, Mr Anies Rasyid Baswedan. Miss you, Bro," Sandi said which was also greeted by boisterous applause.

Currently, the inclusion of Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto is a sign that the party bearing the Garuda logo has docked in the government coalition. However, Sandi said, it does not mean that Gerindra is in opposition to the DKI Provincial Government.

"My memory is still very clear in 2016 and 2017, we all struggled together. What we promised during the campaign period must be realized. We must finish Pak Anies' struggle until the next 2.5 years. Is everything ready?" Said the Password.

About the poverty rate, Sandiaga agrees with Anies. He also claimed that the number of jobs created was increasing and as of today unemployment in DKI continues to decline.

"Alhamdulillah, inflation in DKI Jakarta is also the most controlled inflation. So, apart from the economy, of course, how can we guard education, health and other sectors," he concluded.
