ACEH UTARA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of North Aceh Malikussaleh Station appealed to fishermen to be aware of high waves that reach 2.5 meters in the waters of the Malacca Strait. BMKG forecaster at Malikussaleh North Aceh Station, Haifa Rahmi, jelas, said waves with a height of more than 2.5 meters were dangerous for shipping activities. "High waves that reach 2.5 meters in the waters of the Malacca Strait are quite risky for fishing and shipping activities. Meanwhile, the waves on the Lhokseumawe coast are observed to be around 0.5 to 0.7 meters," he said in Lhokseumawe, quoted from Antara, Monday, September 26. In addition to high waves, the BMKG Malikussaleh Station also appealed to the public to be careful of weather changes from the dry season to the rainy season. "Be aware of weather changes suddenly from dry season to rainy season. These sudden changes in weather are at risk of health problems because from low temperatures suddenly becoming high," he said. Regarding the weather conditions in the eastern region of Aceh in the next few days in the morning, cloudy skies are forecast. Meanwhile, in the afternoon and evening, it tends to rain with light to moderate intensity. "The weather tends to be lower in mountainous areas such as Central Aceh and Bener Meriah. For temperature, it is in the range of 23 to 33 degrees Celsius," he said. During the transition season, the weather is erratic, due to changes in the transitional season cycle and other phenomena may occur that affect weather conditions. The hot weather and rain, he said, may be due to changes in wind direction which result in cloud growth. Meanwhile, the wind speed in the eastern and central regions of Aceh in the next few days, according to him, is predicted to be in the range of 10 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, in the afternoon there is a possibility to increase to 20 kilometers per hour due to cloud growth. "The wind speed which reaches 20 kilometers per hour is indeed the speed above normal and prone to tornadoes," said Haifa Rahmi.
