SMP 36 Jatinegara Broke Into The Thief: 4 Laptops And Missing DSLR Cameras, Capai Losses Of Rp. 76 Million

JAKARTA - Two theft perpetrators managed to break into the first High School (SMP) 36 Jakarta building on Jalan Pedati, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta. The perpetrator's actions were caught on CCTV cameras. In the footage, the perpetrators can be seen climbing the wall alternately.

The perpetrators pryed one of the doors and dismantled a drawer in the administrative room. After successfully entering, the perpetrator stole four laptops and a DSLR camera belonging to the school as well as a laptop in the principal's room drawer.

When launching the action, the perpetrator covered his face so that it was not known. The perpetrator was in the school building for a long time while looking for the stolen goods.

From the CCTV footage, they looked for a number of valuables in the room. The perpetrators were also equipped with sharp weapons of the type of knife.

They stole a number of electronic goods such as four laptop units and one camera. As a result of the incident, the school suffered losses of up to Rp. 76 million.

After getting valuables, the two perpetrators fled with a motorbike that he had prepared outside the school building.

The principal of SMP 36 Jakarta, Sarlem Sihotang, said that his party only found out the incident after receiving a report from the school janitor.

"Initially from the cleaning staff's report. We saw that two rooms were burglarized, the principal's room and the business administration room. 5 laptops and 1 camera were missing. We contacted the police and checked and checked CCTV," Sarlem told reporters, Monday, September 26.

Sarlem explained, from CCTV camera footage, there were two perpetrators.

"We saw two perpetrators but the perpetrators were wearing masks. They wore sweaters, hats and sandals. They brought knives and large screwdrivers. According to price assets, the total stolen items reached Rp. 76 million," he said.

The school also reported the theft to the police.
