Military Cooperation Involves 10 Countries, The TNI Commander Proposes Joint Exercise For Engineering

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa attended the Indo-Pacific Chief of Defense Conference to discuss a number of collaborations in various sectors involving 10 neighboring countries.

"Not only joint exercises, meetings with counterpart countries aim to establish cooperation in infrastructure development, especially carried out by the armed forces," said General Andika, monitored from his YouTube channel, Monday, September 26.

On that occasion, General Andika said that since 2021, the TNI has tried to propose or seek the start of joint exercises.

At that time, said Andika, the TNI was also thinking about engineering experts from engineering companies. This is because Indonesia, especially the TNI, really wants training cooperation in engineering.

"Because whatever the engineers do at the time of training you and they will see the truth as infantry," he said.

DEP Commander of Papua New Guinea (PNG) Defense Forces CDRE Philip Polewara welcomed General Andika's proposal.

"Thank you for the offer and I think this might be implemented, especially we also have technical experts and civil engineering experts in our military," said Philip Polewara.

The Indo-Pacific Chief of Defense Conference activity is known to be an agenda that is held every year. In 2022 is the 26th meeting held by Australia and the United States.

The bilateral meeting involving neighboring countries discussed welfare, infrastructure development, building trust and belief between countries, especially in the defense sector.

Discussions on joint exercises have also become a topic of discussion. It is hoped that the planned agendas will further strengthen Indonesia's relations with other countries, so that it can facilitate relations between countries.
