NTT - A four-wheeled crane vehicle rammed two vehicles and a housing unit in Perempatan Perundi, Komodo District, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Friday, September 23. The crane is suspected of having failed brakes.

"This four-wheeled vehicle came down from the direction of the church, because the brakes failed, crashed into three motorbikes which were temporarily parked and one car on the terrace of the house," said West Manggarai Police Traffic Head Iptu Royke Weridity when met in Labuan Bajo, NTT, Friday 23 September.

He explained that the incident occurred at 12.00 WITA. The incident began when the project crane vehicle went down the red light intersection of Perundi and experienced a failed brake.

The driver swerved to the left and hit a two-wheeled driver and a house on the left side of the road. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries so he received treatment at the Labuan Bajo Hospital.

"There was damage to people's houses, but for the time being there were no casualties," said Iptu Royke, quoted by Antara.

Royke said officers had secured the driver of the project crane to get further information at the West Manggarai Police. While the estimated loss cannot be ascertained.

"Tonight we will move it so that no vehicles pass by," he said.
